The Mazda Roadster Red Top was a special edition unveiled at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show. This car is the first special edition of the ND available for the Japanese market and went on sale at the end of 2017. The specification combines some previously RF exclusive interior elements with a unique new "dark cherry" soft top and a new version of the 16" alloy wheel with a bright silver paint finish.
The Red Top model is based on the 1.5 S Leather Package trim with heated auburn Nappa leather seats and matching synthetic leather dashboard and door panel trim pieces. It also features body coloured door mirrors and is available with a manual or automatic transmission.
The Red Top edition can be ordered in Jet Black, Eternal Blue, Snowflake White, Ceramic, Machine Grey, and Arctic White, but not in Soul Red. The absence of Soul Red probably because it wouldn't give the intended contrast effect with the new coloured soft top.
A special version of the Red Top model was displayed at the 2018 Tokyo Auto Salon. This car featured a height adjustable suspension, premium interior floor mats, LED number plate bulbs, and silvered turn signal bulbs.
