Tokyo Auto Salon 2017

Mazda MX-5 @ Tokyo Auto Salon 2017
The 2017 Tokyo Auto Salon will take place over the weekend from January 13th at the Makuhari Messe convention centre. The Salon is a three day exhibition featuring all of the major players in Japan's automotive industry. It is the place to be to discover aftermarket tuning and styling parts for a huge range of vehicles. Japanese car manufacturers will all have display stands and Mazda is joining in with a range of models on show.

Mazda's stand at the show will feature a selection of Roadster models alongside the new CX-5, CX-3, and the Demio hatchback. As a tribute to the original Eunos Roadster from 1989, Mazda will present a fourth generation Roadster painted in Classic Red. This is the first time the colour has been seen on a new model and it makes a nice change from Soul Red while at the same time reminding us of the Roadster's history. It certainly looks pretty smart in the pictures but it's unlikely to become a production colour, this is probably just a one off.

As well as a regular RF model Mazda will also bring a customised version of their new fastback. This car is fitted with the optional gloss black Mazdaspeed aero kit, colour coded Mazdaspeed rear lip spoiler, adjustable suspension, BBS alloy wheels, chassis bracing, Alcantara interior trim, aluminium pedals, premium carpets, brakes upgrade, and a muffler upgrade.

Also on the stand will be the new CX-5 presented in Soul Red Crystal paint together with custom versions of the latest CX-3, CX-5, and Demio (Mazda 2) all finished in the new premium Machine Grey paintwork.
