The United States is not the only market to get a special Launch Edition of the new Mazda MX-5 RF. Here in the UK we are treated to an even more exclusive, higher specification model.
The UK version is based on the top 2.0 Sport Nav trim and is available with either Soul Red or Machine Grey premium paint. The specification brings together some of the best accessory parts featured on a variety of other MX-5 models. To help distinguish the Launch Edition from a vanilla RF, the fastback roof comes with the piano black centre section. Then there are piano black door mirrors, and a piano black Mazdaspeed rear lip spoiler.
The exterior also benefits from the forged 17" BBS wheels that were optional on the USA's Club models, though there is no sign of the red Brembo brakes being available.
Inside, the UK model gets the Alcantara trimmed Recaro seats previously seen in the Sport Recaro. The full package of optional accessory Alcantara trim pieces is included, along with unique numbered badge making the interior a very nice place to be. The UK Launch Edition is also fitted with the full set of i-ACTIVSENSE safety features which includes the rear cross traffic alert, high beam control, and blind spot monitoring systems.
Prices start at £28,995 with availability limited to 500.
