Mazda Roadster NR Limited

Mazda Roadster NR Limited
The NR Limited was a Japanese market special edition for the year 2000. Production was limited to just 500 and the car has a number of features that set it apart from regular models. It is one of the better limited editions and was introduced after customer demand for a more refined roadster model.

NR Limited was based on the standard 1.8 six-speed 'S' grade model so it has a 3.9 LSD but not the Bilstein suspension the 'RS' grade has. The car's most obvious feature is the unique colour combination. The body colour is Artvin Red Mica, a shade previously used on the 1995 Eunos Roadster VR Limited Combination A. It's a dark red/purple with great depth to it that really gives a classy look to the Roadster.

The interior is a unique shade of beige and features leather seats, beige carpets, beige lower dash, and beige gear & handbrake gaiters. There are also white instruments with chrome rings, chrome door handles, stainless scuff plates, BOSE stereo, and a unique ignition key. The Nardi wheel and gearknob are a special deep-red wood grain that is also used on the centre console trim. The exterior gets a matching beige soft top and highly polished 15" alloy wheels from the 10th Anniversary model. Under the bonnet you'll find a body-coloured suspension tower brace.

A version of the NR Limited was available in the UK where it was known as the Icon. The UK car was broadly the same spec, but somehow lost the polished alloy wheels, there were 750 available. It is also one of only two UK market NB models with the 6-speed gearbox - the other being the 10th Anniversary.
