Mike's MX-5 is a 2011 2.0 retractable hardtop Miyako special edition in Aluminium Silver Metallic. The car has a distinctive appearance thanks to its aftermarket wheels, rear spoiler, and racing stripes.
The exterior of the car has been modified with the front number plate mounting plinth removed and replaced with a sticker plate which helps show off the front bumper curves. The rear has been debadged with the MX-5 and Mazda badges removed as these doe not leave holes and is fairly easy to do. Mike has fitted an ATH-Hinsberger rear wing with integrated brake light to the bootlid. This part is intended for soft top models, but works equally well on the coupe's slightly different boot shape.
The wheels are 18" RG11 by Dare in a dark grey finish that really complements the silver paintwork. These are fitted with 225/35/18 Toyo T1-R tyres with the branding highlighted in white and contrasting red wheel nuts. The car's vinyl graphics were designed by Mike and supplied and fitted by Empire Tinting & Signs of Milnrow. To keep the exterior looking its best, Mike gives it a machine polishing on a regular basis.
Other additions include stainless braided brake hoses, a K&N performance panel air filter, Cobra stainless muffler, iPod connection, and a Sat Nav system has been installed.
