Kev's car is a 2005 2.0 6-speed Launch Edition in Velocity Red. The Launch Edition is the UK version of the 3rd Generation Limited and was only available in the exclusive Velocity Red. This colour is a darker shade than the regular True Red and features a Mica mineral flake in the paint. These special edition cars were available to order when the NC was first released, and featured unique wheels & interior in addition to several chrome trim pieces.
Kev spotted the car listed on eBay in April and wasted no time choosing to buy it. The car had averaged just 3000 miles a year and was fitted with plenty of nice extras by a previous owner. Looking at the pictures I can see why he was so keen as this is a really nice example.
The 3rd Gen Ltd model comes with the optional chrome windscreen surround trim fitted as standard and also features chrome front foglight and grille trims. To complement these parts, a chrome fuel filler flap has been fitted as well as chrome trim around the rear lights. A rear luggage rack is fitted to give the car some additional carrying capacity for those weekend road trips away.
Other modifications fitted include the optional front and rear mudguards, K&N performance air filter, Racing Beat stainless muffler, and the two small tonneau covers that fit either side of the folded down roof. Kev's car is also lowered on Eibach springs and has been treated to a full suspension geometry setup at Wheels In Motion. Most recently the car was at the Sandringham MX-5 Rally where it received many compliments.
