Mazda MX-5 Venture

Mazda MX-5 Venture
Following on from the 2012 Venture edition, Mazda released an updated facelifted version for the 2013 model year.  This version of Venture was available in four colours, but it looks like Radiant Ebony and Crystal White were phased out as the new colour range is Brilliant Black, Copper Red, Stormy Blue, and a new Meteor Grey.  2013 Venture was available in three configurations, either 1.8 SE based soft top or coupe and a 2.0 Sport Tech based coupe. Prices were £18,895 for the 1.8 soft top, £20,495 for the 1.8 coupe, and £22,295 for the 2.0 coupe.

I get the impression Venture is supposed to be more of a luxury version as opposed to sporty editions like Sport Black and Kuro, the only real difference is the more sophisticated image of Venture's tan interior as opposed to the race inspired exterior stripes on the Kuro.  I'm not sure why they kept the name of last year's model, maybe they just liked it, but I think it's going to cause some confusion in future.  Especially if someone retrofits the facelift bumper to a 2012 model. Other versions of this model across Europe are known as Kenko, Cult, and Tanoshi.

Venture's specification is broadly similar to the previous year's version. Once again the main feature is the integrated TomTom navigation unit with 5.8" touchscreen and 4GB SD card memory in place of where the usual BOSE stereo would have been.  Heated tan leather seats, tan door trim panels, and a tan cloth hood on the soft top are also standard equipment.  There are now silver trim inserts on the dash instead of piano black.  You also get the same wheels as the Launch Edition, a design recycled from 2005. Here is a look at the UK brochure and the equipment in more detail.
